This celebratory mask is known as Donkoh, and it celebrates the birth of a boy when his older siblings are all sisters. The mask originates from Akan customs and is replicated with fine detail by Robert Nortey. He carves the mask by hand of sese wood and adorns it with embossed brass plates that resemble tribal markings.
