In Balinese folklore, Ki Dukuh is an ancient man who lives deep in the jungle, accompanied only by his wife, children and the animals. Ketut Sarwa and Ketut Suarsana carve this piece from pule wood, the preferred material among Balinese mask makers for its lightweight properties and subtle color. Adorned with acrylic paints and horsehair eyebrows and beard, the work will lend its wise visage to any setting.
