Between the May races at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the July race weekend in Daytona Beach, the biggest stars of NASCAR will celebrate America and our American pride as Americans. As part of the NASCAR Foundation's NASCAR Unites - An American Salute program, drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Danica Patrick will all be sporting brand-new car designs which will stir patriotic pride in the heart of every race fan. But there's more to the program than patriotic race cars and collectable die-cast. For a six-week period (May 27 through July 7), the NASCAR industry will lend its support and raise awareness for the needs of military members in very important ways. The NASCAR Foundation will work in track markets with military charities to support military families through volunteer events, VIP race experiences and fan engagement through donations and postcards of thanks. Plus, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each NASCAR Unites - An American Salute die-cast will benefit military charities such as the USO, the Armed Forces Foundation and Support Our Troops.
